United States Department of Defense (2008-2016)
I served in a range of policy positions in the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Policy (OSD-Policy) including as a Defense Strategist.

My responsibilities as a Defense Strategist included policy-making on questions of international order, great power competition, and gray zone tactics. I also managed the strategic planning relationship with the United Kingdom during their 2015 Strategic Defence and Security Review.

In previous positions, I led a government-wide review of threats to national security space systems, developed policy for counter-terrorism in the Middle East and Africa, and managed military relationships with a number of countries in Northwest Africa. I was also responsible for defense policy development during the combined military operations in Libya.

Prior to my time working in OSD-Policy, I served as a civilian working for the United States Army.
